I fall to Earth when she needs me:
tear-drop kisses on heads of lettuce
steady showers coax rice along
pounding torrents knock out fires...
to each occasion, I form my drops.
Take me for granted at your peril
and typhoon winds may rev to speed.
I have no patience for man’s grousing;
put Nature first and I’ll let you be.
I offer rainbows to the children--
their heartfelt squeals have made me hope
that parents may recall the days
when they also loved my touch.
Lakes and oceans are my kindred
flora and fauna call my name.
I nod to them to show my presence;
they take a moment to smile at me.
All God's creatures have the rhythm
it's up to Man to learn the song...
! ! ! ! ! ! !
Without us all, the planet ceases.
Without Earth, there is no "us" at all.
