My thoughts on much of the worldas it is today.
"Lock Down."
by Rhymer
|
The air? Full of tension
and fearful apprehension,
spawning great consternation
that firmly grips the Nation:
due to the Lock Down decree!
Neighbours avoid contact close:
stood apart, even the verbose
seldom stop briefly to talk.
After a 'How Do?' Resume their walk:
due to the Lock Down decree!
With sparse numbers allowed,
stores get no bustling crowd.
With persuasion having failed,
all normal life bow curtailed:
due to the Lock Down decree!
Busy streets - once traffic filled:
are rare indeed. Their hubbub stilled.
Oft heard and part of daily life,
are angry spats, twixt man and wife:
due to the Lock Down decree!
Few children seen at school today.
Learning at home - the new found way.
Essential workers - walking brisk,
speed to their task. A daily risk,
due to the Lock Down decree!
Life we knew, is now emended:
habits too, are now transcended
Stress of every known description,
rules. Patience the prescription:
due to the Lock Down decree!
Around the world, Nations decide
normalcy must be set aside.
Citizens must abide to rules,
placed to curb, uncaring fools!
So rules, the Lock Down decree!

Author Notes
New Toronto Lock Down enforced on Monday. Too little, too late? With the US Thanksgiving upcoming, how many will not see and enjoy the Christmas celebrations? The vaccine cannot come fast enough. Stay safe. Denis.
