Your baby
Your darling
Your heart
on wheels
The light
of your life
is...
replacing you
Uh,
ouch
Yep,
hurts
Why?
'Tis natural
I,
as father
resent...this?
I
should be
ashamed
And
I am
Self,
its wants,
its demands
must die
I resist
the natural
culmination
of youth's
maturation
Something
we all
hope for
The mirror
is right
I
must face
the final
maturation
I
must...
grow up
Thought
I could
make it
to the grave
with my
inner child
still intact
With my
daughter's light
still mine
It's harder
than I thought
to realize
the problem
is just mine
As Samuel Clemmens
once said-
"Someone
must sit
on the sidelines
as...
the parade goes by."

Author Notes
It's amazing how our children
continuously teach us.
