A poem of Christmas celebration
"Why We Celebrate December 25th"
by GE Parson
|
The virgin birth of Jesus
Came from Heaven above,
He was God incarnate
He came to show His love.
He first laid aside His glory
Born in a crude animal manger,
Grew up and lived with common folks,
Known by most as the son of a carpenter.
He was not a handsome man
*That attracted looks from others.
He was just a simple plain man,
Whose best friends were fishers.
When He was only twelve years old,
With is parents, went to Jerusalem,
But some how they lost him among
The milling crowd of men and women.
After many days of seeking,
They returned to Jerusalem,
And there in the Temple,
Talking to the Doctors they found Him.
It wasn't many years from His birth to adulthood
His fame of teaching and healing was known.
The miracles He performed were graciously given,
But the real reason for his birth was for our sins to atone.
This, dear reader friend whoever you are,
Is the real reason for the season,
To celebrate the birthday
Of God's one and only Son.
