Writing and communication have always interested me since High School. It has been a work in progress.

What started out as pursuing my comic ambitions has turned into improving and developing my writing beyond where I was before.

Could have been at Barangaroo site
"A Packer stadium, NRL" by LittleIrishman

James Packer, including his passed-on father Kerry, have and still have contact and influence in the National Rugby League (NRL), and a linked Packer-derived sports stadium would have been huge.

The Packer family, with Kerry, James, and others, are one of the richest billionaire people in Australia and worldwide.

James Packer, and his current powerful Crown Casinos, already support NRL teams, South Sydney Rabbitohs, and Melbourne Storm.

The current Barangaroo Packer casino site could very well have been a single NRL and/or general sports stadium, or a combined Packer casino too.

Barangaroo has a very strong central place in the city of Sydney, next to the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and Circular Quay.

In addition to this hypothetical Packer stadium placed here would provide solid impact for tourism in Sydney, NSW, even Australia.

With such a stadium, Packer could very well have provided sponsorship and/or considerable money to the whole NRL, and certain teams as well. This would have really stamped Packer's association with and influence on the NRL.

This Packer stadium idea relates back all those years to Kerry Packer and his One Day international cricket, which not only transformed cricket, but also worldwide sports.

The only problem, if the stadium was combined with Packer's Crown casino chain, is the direct and indirect impact of gambling, not just on NRL players and other sportspeople, but also the general public.

However, indirectly speaking, but still a very important point that may affect the Barangaroo site, is that James Packer has sold almost half his stake of Crown Resorts, priced at $1.76 billion. It was sold to large Hong Kong-based company, Melco Resorts & Entertainment in Macau and China.
