A poem about faith.
"Strive..." by royowen
Strive ...

Why do we strive to be approved,
some deep desire by darkness moved?
To my perception God shines bright.
while I am covered by the night.

I raise my hand to touch the light,
and yet it seems I'm out of sight.
I know I cannot breach this grey,
I long to turn my night to day.

Am I so distant, far removed?
I seek God's ear who seems unmoved.
And though God's silence feels so cold,
my faith remains as ever...bold,

For though I cannot hear His voice,
I know in Him I can rejoice.
I do not need my sight to see,
because He's always near to me.

Author Notes
There is something about the Spirit of God that communicates with our spirit. There is a certainty of faith that cannot be explained. As that great hymn states, Blessed assurance

John 10:27-28 My seep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone pluck them out of my hand. KJV

Hebrews 13:5b Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.
