Philosophic question on flowers of love.
"Temporary Love?" by dellsworthpoet
Cut flowers---dying,
displayed in crystal vases,
strange tokens of love.
They wilt, fall, will be thrown out.
What does this symbol portend?

Author Notes
I wrote this after pondering and still having an open question. As with many symbols there are varied possible portends. First it is possible that love like a flower is fragile, take care of it. Second is that love like flowers will be retained even as the beauty fades. On the other side it can also portend that love, like flowers, can be thrown away and replaced. Or even that love is meant to be recycled like cut flowers. One final consideration I had is it brings the message of human endeavors being temporal and falling to ruin in the end---whenever that end may be. Thus the poem is open-ended. Answer the question for yourself.
