Another view of a soul's path to happiness
"A Soul's Happiness" by dlw1925
There is a house; it's there to find
Where souls are happy throughout time
Only by the truth the soul will tell
Whether it escapes its mortal shell

On its journey shall it ascend
When its purpose has found its end
Still no happiness will there ever be
Without kindness for its God to see

In the mind lies a life made goal
Passed from mind to the immortal soul
In the soul lies its god perceived
And its path to the house as it believes

In its house it shall reside
Throughout time with its god at its side
But only if it bestows its gift
One reconciled by the life it lived

If denied by the truth of life
The soul's rejected by its God's eyes
With an impossible standard for its God to see
The house of happiness will never come to be

Trapped and alone in a lifeless shell
The truth of its failure it forever tells
No forgiveness, no rebirth, no golden gates and no shining light
Just a burning yearn for an end to endless night.
