I love reading poetry, and I have recently began to write some of my own. I am an amateur artist,I have many interests, I am hoping to use my experiences in my writing.

The life of contest
"The life of an FGM Child" by Jackarrie

How she suffered
she did not know
what it all meant
to have a mutilated vagina.

Deeply entrenched in culture
she had no choice
her future grim
the  pain began at five years old

With this barbaric practice 
she faces
sexual dysfunction.

If pregnant.
she must be cut open.

She suffers
chronic pelvic infections
psychological disorders
post-traumatic stress.

Hepatitis and HIV
anxiety and depression
even death.

Type 1
Partial or total removal of the clitoris and/or the prepuce.
Type II
Partial or total removal of the clitoris and the labia minora, with or without
excision of the labi

Type III
Narrowing of the vaginal orifice with creation of a covering seal by cutting
and appositioning the labia minora and/or labia majora, with or without
excision of the clitoris (infibulation).
Type IV
All other harmful procedures to the
female genitalia for non
purposes e.g. pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterization.
There are no known positive health benefits associated with FGM.

present with complications should receive care that is culturally responsive and non
