Chapter 10039 of the book Get To Know Me!
The things we do to humor Robyn
"Quiz #2: Mark Valentine" by Mark Valentine

Quiz #2

1.) Has three parts:

A.) When is your birthday?     October 1, 1959

B.) What star sign/zodiac symbol does that make you?    Libra

C.) Do you care?    Yes, but not about this.

2.) What would you do if you won the lottery?    I would self-publish a novel, then I would buy a million copies so that it would make the NY Times Best Seller List and Terry Gross would interview me on "Fresh Air" - she would find me witty and urbane and invite me to her cocktail parties, where I would get to be friends with Garrison Keillor, Scott Simon, and Nina Totenberg. We would hang out and literary critics would call us "The New Algonquin Round Table", I'd be famous and all of those girls who wouldn't give me the time of day in college (I'm talking about YOU, Tina Westin) would wallow in their regret.

3.) Are you a better swimmer, skier or lover?    Hmm, let's see...I used to be okay at that one in my younger days, but it's been a while and I'm not as agile as I used to be...I'm afraid I might not be able to change direction like I used to. I could build up too much speed and wipe out, possibly hurting myself and others...of course, I could always wear a helmet...but then by the time I put on the helmet and the special boots, bindings, poles, hat, and gloves, I'd be too tired. So let's eliminate that one...

That leaves skiing or swimming...  I'd have to say swimming.

4.) If you could go back in time to change one thing what would it be?    I'd go back to 1964 and convince Phil Wrigley not to trade Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio. With Brock in the outfield, the Cubs might have won a couple of pennants in the sixties.

Either that, or go back, assassinate Hitler, and prevent WW II and the Holocaust. It's a coin toss.

5.) What color socks are you wearing right now?    White  (funny, that woman who keeps calling me in the middle of the night always asks what I'm wearing too...Robyn, is that you?)
