Chapter 18 of the book Haiku and Nature Poems ~ 2012-2017
A nature poem.
"Woodland Sentinels"
by BeasPeas
|
Springtime faith holds sway,
lifting spirits high,
warmth still far away.
But snow's stormy awe,
breathes its final breath.
Winter's last hurrah.
Ghostly silence mimes
woodland sentinels,
guarding, one more time.
Mute and colorless,
monochromatic,
trees stand motionless.

Author Notes
Living in Wisconsin, I awoke to snow this morning after a week that promised springtime. These are the woodland sentinels in my backyard. Thank you for reading my poetry.
