Song lyrics
"Holiday, Holiday" by michaelcahill

VERSE

Holiday, holiday
all are invited
holiday, holiday
and all are united

VERSE

all have beliefs
we hold them quite dear
we recognize
each other with cheer

CHORUS

you sing my song
and I'll sing yours too
holiday, holiday
peace unto you
holiday, holiday

love shining thru

BRIDGE

Trees lit up fancy neath stars in the sky
candles glow brightly and dazzle the eye
baskets are filled with a bountiful haul
the harvest is shared
we join hands one and all

VERSE

what matter the names
it is faith binding all
together we celebrate
apart we will fall

VERSE

holiday, holiday
today it begins
continue tomorrow
and everyone wins

CHORUS--VAMP OUT

you sing my song
and I'll sing yours too
holiday, holiday
peace unto you
holiday, holiday

love shining thru

Author Notes

This is envisioned as a choral piece with orchestra. It would include music and vocals in many flavours reflecting a diversity of beliefs.

Being politically correct has become something undesirable for some reason of late. I view that as an excuse to use "Merry Christmas" as taunt to non-Christians rather than a simple greeting of goodwill. "Merry Christmas" should NEVER be construed as "This is OUR country and if you aren't Christian ... GET OUT!" That's my PC view. Sue me. :))
