A pleasant surprise.
"Fell Out the Chair!" by Curly Girly

This morning I fell out my chair. Yes, things came to a crashing halt! This picture is my workstation--see? Note the red Ferrari chair and yellow Beetle mouse. I like to play. So far, this is the closest I’ve come to sitting inside a Ferrari; at my age, it won’t get any closer unless I steal or hire one. As a writer, I feel the need to fantasise.
Today I discovered I was 3rd Ranked Novelist for 2017. Surprise, surprise--it knocked me over. The chair just flipped. I had given up and run away to spend time with my family and friends over Christmas.
Last year I had a nasty cold that lasted for weeks. Then we went on holiday to Thailand--that was exciting. Later, I’ll share a few stories.
After our holiday, December was filled with delightful bells and whistles, plus gorgeous, hot days and water sport.
Seriously, with weather like that, who could stay indoors? Not me. I had a blast and am still struggling to settle.
Yesterday was a beautiful summer morning. I wore a dress and cycled to the river with my dog running along beside the bike. I ramped up a kerb and flipped like a cork. BOOM! Reality struck with bone shattering force when I realised I’m no longer fifteen but fifty-teen. Today I have a skateboarder-style kneecap. It is all stiff and grazed--a memento of how 50-year-olds should not behave. Fantasy has its price. After this mini rest, I’ll re-fasten my seatbelt and zoom off to another location with cyber-Ferrari.
Cheers! And thanks for your support.
