A token of thanks to my readers.
"FREE Kindle Book" by Curly Girly

As a token of appreciation to readers at FanStory, I have a free Kindle book to give you.
I always tell my kids, “Watch out! Nothing’s for free. There’s always a catch somewhere.”
Okay, so I know you’re thinking the same. “What’s the catch?”
YOU: “Ah! I knew there was a ‘but’….”
ME: “All I ask is for you to leave a review afterwards. Hopefully, it will be kind, but you can decide. 3s, 4s and 5s are always welcome, but if you think it’s worth less than that, then you are exempt from feeling obliged to leave your scorn behind.”
YOU: “Why are you doing this?”
ME: “Giving stuff away makes me feel good. YOU deserve it. And, I need verified reviews.”
*It is a legitimate, safe, reputable giveaway. It’s hosted through
I organised it through my KDP bookshelf.

AUDIO version -- *special conditions apply only for audio
*This is a limited time offer that expires on 18 March 2018*
FREE Kindle book offer today! (60 000 words--a short read.) It's a coming-of-age story set in the late 70s in Africa. After Sandra's family is killed in an ambush in Zimbabwe, she goes to live with her ageing grandmother in South Africa. Later, naive and alone, Sandy takes on a hotel job that leads to meeting an array of world-weary, older women who offer crazy advice. Who can she trust?
*Warning: contains minimal sex and bad language.
PS: If you find any areas of the book that needs editing--feel free to leave a message on my FB author page and I’ll get back to you when possible, thanks.
On a parting note, I wish to explain my absence:
I am in the process of setting up a WordPress blog site. I’m doing this under tuition while learning Adobe programmes. Part of me misses FS but the other part must study and do things. FS is great, and I hope to revisit it briefly in winter. Right now, I’ve got work to do.
By the way, I stumbled upon a great tutorial site that offers some free courses. If you want affordable tuition, check out this handy online site:
Most subjects come on special offer now and then. Put your favourites on your watch list and wait till they get reduced. It’s also a nice way to explore options. I haven’t explored the writing options but I’m sure they are worthy. It could be a good way to sharpen skills and trial them out back here on FanStory.
A SEO expert once said, “Writing a book is a great idea; but if you want to sell, I’ve got bad news--only your mother, brother and 3 friends will ever read it. And there your book will sit for the next decade with 5 reviews, unless…”
YOU: “Yeah, unless what?”
ANSWER: “Unless you create a market for your book. It’s best to create your audience first.”
YOU: “How?”
ANSWER: “Start a blog. But not just any old blog. Your blog needs to be helpful and informative. You need to attract the right readers and followers.”
YOU: “How?”
ANSWER: “I’m trying to figure that out!”

In the meanwhile, I’m heading off to the volcanic, sulphurous waters of Rotorua tomorrow, so I won’t be able to reply for a while. Cheers!
