Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Time when it doesn't pay to get out of bed
"Not A Good Day" by Linda Engel
Today I did the ghastly deed
While shaving my legs, I cut my knee.

What happened next made me wince
I washed my hair; no cream rinse.

Tangled and bleeding, I stepped out of the tub
Reached for my towel for a nice dry rub.

No towel was hanging on the towel rack
Now I'm tangled and bleeding with a wet back.

How could this morning get any worse?
What did I do to be so darn cursed?

I grabbed my robe and scuffled into the kitchen
My muse just laughed at my pitiful condition.

So feeling defeated, "I've had enough," I said
As my tangled, bleeding, wet self went back to bed.

Author Notes
I really didn't have a bad morning but I have had days like this. Days where it wasn't worth getting up before noon. I've cut myself shaving, washed my hair only to find the conditioner bottle empty and got out of the tub to find no towel. Mama said there be days like this.
Hope your day started with a smile and a hot cup of coffee (or tea).

thanks bd shutterspeed for the fun art work.
