"Snowfall" by RodG
Yep, Saturday and snow again!
A skim milk sky has hid the sun
and soon walkways be covered white.
Soft drifting flakes just settling in.

Flour sifted now 'pon roofs and streets.
Spun sugar glistens in the trees.
A wind's come up and whistles 'round
my scarf-wrapped neck, nips at my knees.

Love frolicking through fluffy down
which flecks my shoes with fairy dust.
I've loosed that elf who lurks within
to flit, cavort because he must.

These flurries sure are pretty now,
but I don't hanker heaps of stuff.
Let's hope this storm sweeps 'round the lake,
as right soon I'll have had enough.

If you are wondering who the Speaker is, it is the REAL me. I am a Midwestern transplant from Nevada. Though I have lived near Chicago for 50 years, I am still more likely to say Howdy than Hello.
