It is better to have loved and lost....
"Sad Reunion" by PeterRHW

Well now, hello there, how the years have flown.
Forget you? No, of course, I never could.
Since that sad day you left me on my own,
To find a better man, I was no good

In my sad heart I always understood
That you could never live with me or stay
With this poor boy from our poor neighbourhood,
You could not guess the wealth I'd have today.

You found your rich man, house out on the bay,
A mansion, servants at your beck and call.
Now in the rain you stand at my doorway
You rolled the dice girl, and you lost it all

Your finger's marked where once there was a ring
That was not mine, I don't owe you a thing.
