Sunrise knocked on my window panes
Shining the rays of blues and pinks
Of their early morning beauty
Sunrise showed me it's a blessing
To praise Jesus each and every day
Sunrise taught me to go for early morning walks
Even when the spring season rained softly on my skin
I walked my dogs for miles and prayed
I pondered on the buds upon the trees
And stopped to pick a tulip or two and
Place them later on my windowsill
Sunshine peeked out upon the clouds
I smiled as I listened to the birds sing sweet songs
To each other and
I knew that I am never alone
(windows of my soul)
The wind blew my long brunette hair
With a fresh coolness of winter turning to spring
I recalled that in the spring a long time ago,
Our sins were forgiven by the blood of Jesus and
By His blood, whiter than snow
As I looked outside my window
I imagined the flowers in my garden growing
With their vibrant, rainbow colors
Attracting the butterflies and hummingbirds and bees
I saw a bunny chasing another bunny
Around the bushes and
baby birds danced with one another at
my bird feeders
My dogs played in the backyard
while I sat on my wooden steps,
I stopped to write a poem or two about my garden
And remembered that Brooke shared her dandelions
She blew their seeds at you and me
(And I wondered if the worms winked at me)
I danced with the golden daffodils
And saw them planted by my rocks and trees
They sparkled in the sunlight of the spring season
In their golden gowns
I thought I smelt the fragrance of the purple lilacs
And orange blossoms and apple trees
I heard the sweet voices of my Savior,
who placed us on green pastures
And calmed our souls at the quiet seas
I knew my mother and father were
smiling from Heaven as they danced with glee
(I carry their memories in my heart)
Sunrise, sunset, seasons melt into one another
I've learned to enjoy the now in life
And meditate in the moment
I wondered at the wisdom of God
Who blessed us with the seasons,
the sunrises and sunsets of the beautiful day
My journal is filled with the blessings
Of my words scribed with a golden pen
Upon my book
I'll take another look
And share my poems with you
Outside my living room window
I saw the diamonds sparkle in the starlight
On the frozen blanket of snow
(sunsets outside of my window panes)
I knew that the sun would rise again
in the morning
To fill our hearts with joy after sadness
Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset...
My windows lured me outside
for more adventures
What words of wisdom should I share
With the youth when I leave my life's journey?
Maybe, to enjoy every season and to love God
and one another
(and to live in harmony)
Jesus will teach me to fly on the wings of the eagle
For my Creator blessed me with eternity
