Actual Title: The Fearful Fate of the Corporate Carnal Soul
"Corporate Carnal Soul" by I. J. Fox
peer there to see our culture’s pampered prince
in a picture-perfect palace undimmed by time or labor
he, too thoughtless even then to think
all may not be as mother made it seem—more than vapor
a hedonist, he lies upon the heath with fearful hubris
his blissful bubble of naïveté near bursting at the seams
a boy as blind as now forgotten Polyphemus
he cannot see the sordid statesman’s sophistries in all the world’s regimes
amidst the little lecherous lords of languid hearts from mock Olympus
they there now as a poor Prometheus to promulgate
the tested lies that try men’s tortured, twisted hearts so vicious
and convey the
, cold chronology of our cataclysmic fate
so devour all your dainties you sad and damnable, drunken youth
your futile, fast and final days will so fleeting be
as you watch your wretched, wasted fairy-world contend with woeful truth
that all your hallowed hopes were but hapless fuel for a hellish devil’s glee
