Writing and communication have always interested me since High School. It has been a work in progress.

What started out as pursuing my comic ambitions has turned into improving and developing my writing beyond where I was before.

Australia up for option for World Cup
"Women's FIFA World Cup 2023" by LittleIrishman

Following this recent 2019 France Women's FIFA Soccer World Cup, Australia could very well be selected for the next 2023 World Cup.

The next men's event equivalent is on 2022 in Qatar, the Middle East.

The FIFA Soccer World Cup is like a mini-Olympics, being close to the second biggest sporting event after the Olympics. But this is usually for the men's event, not as much as for the women. Women's Soccer therefore needs more, better promotion, especially TV/Internet coverage, like the men's football.

Such a granting would be a win-win situation for women's soccer and women's sports in general, even initiating things like a local-to-international all-women TV/Internet channels.

There is more of a chance for the females to be given the 2023 event, as the male events have been granted to other countries.

There is obviously the big tourism drive the 2023 event will bring to Australia as a whole with either Sydney or Melbourne to host the event. Sydney and Melbourne already have quality sporting infrastructure from previous big sporting events like the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, and individual sports championships. Such current sporting and general infrastructure will obviously be cleaned, decorated, improved and developed for the 2023 event. There may even be some new infrastructure that can be created and produced for such an event.

With such infrastructure and programs already in place, at least Sydney or Melbourne will be predominantly prepared for this hypothetical 2023 event.

The sport of Soccer in Australia is still a project-in-action for the men's and women's teams. These elite Australian national Soccer teams are mainly at a medium-level of elite Soccer, instead of the top-level players and countries around the world.

Soccer in Australia still does not get the attention it deserves. A 2023 event could very well change this for the women and men. Soccer in Australia is still the number one grassroots, local sport for people in general. At some stage, elite sportspeople across-the-board have played junior Soccer in their younger years, as it is a skilful, fit, safe, and exciting sport compared to, say, heavier contact sports like Rugby League and Rugby Union.
