A very trying week of pet care.
"Pet Care (Beautiful Creatures)" by Rosemary Everson1

Have you ever had a pet or pets which you thought, 'it's goodbye time'?

This week has been very trying at our house. The tears have fallen a few times knowing the day will come when the good-byes will be said and heard.

After a visit to a doctor today, we have some time left for those good-byes. I'm thinking positive anyway.

I'm not going into detail but our dog won't eat so going to the bathroom normally is difficult for him. I have tried every kind of food that I thought he would eat or like. Today was the worst because none of the foods that I made were edible; at least that's what he thought.

Many times we come to a point in our lives when a pet gets rather attached to their owner. But I think we wouldn't want it any other way.

This beautiful creature, our puppy-dog, has a coat of brown hair that doesn't look one bit shiny right now. I comb it and hair falls out by just a stroke of a brush. His eyes looked sad, stressed. The time will come when the decision has to be made but I'm praying he'll get through this episode.

No matter how sad or stressed he looks, we think he's the most beautiful dog in the world, because he's been with us through thick and thin. I look at him and think, 'it's tough to get old'. But I'll never stop caring for him until the day the doctor gives us the final, 'you'll have to say your good-byes'.

We'll be saddened with that news.

Beautiful creature, we have loved you since the first day we laid our eyes on you. I wish you well, no good-byes yet.

Author Notes
Our week hasn't been a good one for our beautiful creature here. Wishing him to get stronger and brighter every day. Just a little update: I've been giving him food through syringe. So far, so good.
