Getting revenge on someone who really deserves it!
"What Goes Around Comes Around" by Patty Palmer

Revenge can be so very sweet and rewarding! If anyone deserved my revenge, it was Gina! Gina took everything from me, slowly turning my life into hers!

We were kids and it seemed Gina was always there to take what was mine! She lived next door and she wanted everything that belonged to me! She hung around our house constantly, acting so holier than thou, leading my parents to start asking me why I couldn't be more like Gina! She was such a sweet girl and always so polite! Everything my parents bought for me, they bought one for her. These were MY parents, not hers! She actually called them Mom and Dad too! Her parents and mine thought it was cute! Yeh, right!

At school, we were in the same class. In third grade, she copied off of my test paper and then told the teacher that I had copied off of her! I got a big fat zero and detention! At home that was followed up by a week of grounding. I asked her why she did that and she said she wanted to make sure the teacher liked her more than me! After that, the teacher didn't seem to trust me anymore. When taking tests, she made me sit alone at the back of the room so that I would be "keeping my eyes on my own paper." Of course, all the other students saw it! Then I started being bullied. No one wanted to sit with me because I was a cheater and couldn't be trusted.

Now, I walked to and from school alone. I ate lunch alone. Recess was even worse! No one would play with me. If I sat on the swings, the others left! When we played a game like dodge ball, not only did I not get picked for a team, the teacher had to assign me to one! It was humiliating! And if my team lost the game, I was automatically blamed!

I started skipping school! I would leave the house at a normal time then spend the entire school day in the park until time to go home. The teacher called to ask why I had been missing so much school and my grades were in jeopardy. When my parents questioned me, I tried to tell them what was happening, but as always, Gina was right there and told my parents how I misbehaved in school and where I went every day. It would never have occurred to my parents to ask Gina to go home once in a while. If they had, I would have been able to tell them my problems. But, they always told her that they loved her the same as they loved me! That's painful to hear at only eight years old and watching my life disappear right before my eyes.

I knew I had to do something to stop Gina! I wanted my family back! I wanted my own life back! I waited until the right time, then put my plan into place.

The right time presented itself on a Saturday morning. I was up and dressed at dawn, making sure I showed up at Gina's house before she could get to mine first. The back door of her house had two staircases leading from the ground and connecting with a deck at the back door. I asked Gina's mom to tell Gina to come outside to play.

Gina came out of the back door nastily asking what I wanted because she didn't want me around. She told me to go home and leave her alone! Scowling at me, as she turned to go back inside, I stuck out my foot tripping her along with just the hint of a push! Falling backward down both sets of stairs and hitting the ground with a thump, I screamed for help! Gina's parents came running, finding her lying on the ground, her limbs at different angles. Hysterically, I told them how we were playing and she tripped and fell.

Today, I have my life back. I visit Gina every day at her house. I talk to her and tell her all about school. She understands what I'm saying and it makes her look sad. She hasn't been able to talk since the accident. She sits in a wheelchair and wears disposable diapers. She drools when she's fed. Her parents are thankful to me for the time I spend with their daughter. They treat me like another one of their kids! My parents are so proud of me, they say because of what a good friend I am to Gina!

I just smile to myself and think about how sweet revenge can be!
