The Awdl Sonnet
"The Give Away Signs" by Dolly'sPoems

In every move, we give ourselves away,
we do not need to say a single word.
The way we speak, our face is on display,
our body language is what’s being heard.

Inflection in our voice then says it all,
the inference is small, but casts the truth,
we fall into the trap when lies are tall,
the clues are there for any budding sleuth.

We cannot hide from what we really know,
reveal our hand, we show our honesty,
below the surface, underneath the snow
is where we try to keep our modesty.

Lies can’t conceal the truth by those who see
beyond the fake facade we are not free.

Author Notes
Our guilt is often written on our face and in our body language. In Murder cases where the Police think they have their suspect, they encourage them to give a press conference to see their behaviour and study it.
