A Sonnet
"A Christmas Carol, all in Rhyme" by Dolly'sPoems

Now Ebenezer had a dream one night,
four fearful apparitions came to call.
The first one, Jacob Marley, gave a fright
when dragging chains and ledgers ‘cross the hall.

The second, Christmas past, began to haunt
the fun of yesterday, now dead and gone,
at one a.m. another ghost was caught
no charity for Scrooge, his meanness won.

The ghost appearing last had chilling news
an early death became his fateful path,
and no one cared about this misers muse,
as at his death, so many people laughed.

The error of his ways was changed in time,
as Scrooge became a man we now think kind.

Author Notes
I published this little book in 2015 as I re-wrote the story in rhyme. I have recently updated the book and I would like to share it in instalments with you over the coming weeks as Christmas approaches. The first instalment will be released tomorrow. I hope you enjoy it. Love Dolly x
