Ballad potlatch entry- see notes
"Meeting Dreams" by dragonpoet
To all the inhabitants here
My thanks I give to you
For this tidal wave of awe and cheer
That you made my wish true

While walking in the mythic glade,
In mist appeared a satyr.
I asked, "Are these woods fairy made?
"If 'twas, they'd not flatter

You with showing themselves," said he,
Without show of belief."
Then I know that they'll let me see
them, I sighed with relief.

"That I see you and ask if sprites
Exist should be enough
For my wished for friends to alight
Above the nearby bluff."

"I think you are right for I hear
Their song of friend's welcome
For about you they have no fear
So from their homes they come.

The sound of flutters filled the air
And I heard soft voices,
Saying, "For our woods we know you care.
We see your kind choices"

We talked for what seemed hours and hours
They always seemed to sing
To the trees, the grass and flowers
I wished I had their wings

"You can visit us any time.
Next time bring a wagon
For we see it's your dream sublime
To see mighty dragons."

"Why a wagon?, I ask. They say,
"Meat for dragon, fruit for us.
During the drive we'll lead the way
To their caves with no fuss.

Author Notes
I know the rules say abcb rhyme schemes but some internet sights do say abab is also acceptable for a ballad. Hope it's ok with you guys and gals too.
