Chapter 102 of the book Part 5 2019
contest entry
"He Promised Me..." by Barb Hensongispsaca
He Promised Me...
(dedicated to my twin sons and for those who have lost)

He promised me He would never leave me
in my times of weakness and trials,
He, Himself, will hold me up as I work for Him.

He promised me my perfect life with Him,
not just to get me to worship Him and turn from 'items',
but because He loves me.

He promised me a mansion beyond the stars
where I could rest my weary feet and
ease my thoughts filled with turmoil and fear.

He promised me that I would see my family
and my friends who have gone before me
and are already sitting at His right hand.

He promised me that I would walk again
without the pain of this earthly body
and I will sing with the heavenly choir.

He promised me that I could sit at His feet
and listen to His words of love
that I have longed so many years to hear.

He promised me that all things would be revealed
and all my questions would be answered
and confusion would forever leave my eyes.

He promised me my sons will greet me
at the entrance to my eternal home
and I will learn to laugh again.
