Act 1 - Scene 1 and 2
"Words That Bind" by Begin Again

Scene 1

INT. - EAGLE NEST CAFE - DAY

ALYSSA is sitting in a corner booth, legs curled up, reading a novel. LOUIS and KATE are snuggling together in the booth across the aisle from ALYSSA

LOUIS
Kate, I love you so much.

KATE
You know I love you more than life itself.

They kiss passionately, clinging to each other.

LOUIS
I can’t get on that train tomorrow. I just can’t!

KATE
You must! Your mother needs you.

LOUIS
Andrew is there. He can help her.

KATE
Andrew? You know that’s nonsense, my love. Your brother can’t even help himself.

LOUIS
I can’t bear the thought of being without you.

KATE
I know. Me either

The young couple kiss passionately, oblivious to their surroundings. Alyssa sips her hot chocolate and leans her head against the window. She softly whispers.

ALYSSA
Only in my dreams.

Alyssa brushes away a tear and closes her eyes.

ALYSSA (cont.)
Oh, Conner, I remember when we thought our love was forever.

Scene 2

EXT: PARK - DAY  - DREAM SEQUENCE:

ALYSSA and CONNER are strolling hand in hand in the park, laughing and stopping to watch two squirrels chasing each other across the grass and up a tree.

ALYSSA
Oh, Conner, I don’t want this ever to end. I’m so happy.

CONNER:
When my parents said we were coming here to live with my grandparents,I almost died. Couldn’t imagine living in a small country town.

ALYSSA
Remember the day we met?

CONNER
How could I forget? You chasing that ridiculous hat down the street, clinging to a bag of groceries.

ALYSSA laughs.

ALYSSA
Which, of course, I dropped,  spilling everything.

CONNER laughs.

CONNER:
Being the gallant man I am, I retrieved your silly hat, bowing regally to my new found Princess as I placed it on your head.

ALYSSA
I think I fell in love with you right then and there.

CONNER
I know I did!

ALYSSA
You helped me pick up the groceries and offered to carry them home for me.

CONNER
We talked all the way to your house as if we’d known each other forever.

ALYSSA
It feels as if we have. I can’t imagine not sharing everything with you.

CONNER
Yes, it definitely has been different than what I expected. The bonfires, the county fair, the moonlit nights by the river, picnics in the park.

ALYSSA
Lying on a blanket, staring at the stars.

CONNER
Kissing the most beautiful girl in the world.

ALYSSA laughs and playfully shoves CONNER. He retaliates and then runs away. ALYSSA chases after him. CONNER grabs ALYSSA and they fall to the ground, laughing. Laughter turns to passionately kissing.

ALYSSA
I love you, Conner

CONNER
I love you too! I promise this will never end.

ALYSSA
You will always be my Greek God.

CONNER:
And you my Goddess.

Author Notes
1st of 3 acts

I have not written for years and a friend of mine asked me to write a script; something I had never done before. So I have attempted to do so. I hope you enjoy my writing and feel free to suggestion changes or errors I may have made. Thank you for taking the time to read.
