Behold an unscathed resolve! Flash Fiction.
"Fighting the Good Fight" by Aaqib Naeem

"You are awfully cheerful for someone who just messed up again!" noted my best friend. I knew this was coming and smiled a big, generous smile.

"Well...because this time things are different!" was my relaxed reply. He came closer and leaned against the railing next to me. "Care enough to share?" was all he remarked.

"Sure...unlike before, I have not let failure bog me down. I can stand tall and proud, satisfied that I gave it my best. My demons are the ones who should be worried now!" I smiled again and breathed in the scent of my victorious resolve.

Author Notes
Author Notes:

We must always appreciate both ourselves, for trying, and our resolve for not breaking down. The disappointment that failure brings ceases to matter if you continue to believe in yourself and acknowledge your courage for not leaving your side. I, for one, sorely need to be reminded of this for my struggles...both inner and outer!
An unbroken, victorious resolve is the key to inner peace :-)
