Chapter 7 of the book NoPoWriMo - April 2020
A new phrase that is just not right social distancing!
"Pass Over, Passed over" by JLR
Just sitting thinking about these crazy days
social distancing now a brand new phrase,
No hip hop, no juke joint, no sock hops,
no more, no more, no more.

A new normal, it is not easy, this distance
Passover Thursday becomes reminiscent
Sedar supper this year, passed over,
red rover, red rover, red rover.

Rains still falling, trees still growing,
flowers flowering -- people unknowing
We oldster's trying new platforms which
It is not very easy for us to suddenly switch,
Zoom a Zoom-Zoom.

Tuned in we clamor for a glimmer of good news
But boredom sets in, but we can't help but snooze.
People are huggers, high-fivers, kissers, touchers,
ushers, truckers, plumbers, others.
All lovers, lovers, lovers!

Man, so done, with being tuned out, I want to dial in,
spin the vinyl at a new rpm, sitting around is a sin,
Let us hear the hits, country roads, mountain high.
Jitterbug, cut the rug, rub a dub dub!

So tired with this bridge over trouble waters going by,
Seeing you is not the same as being with you
Getting a virtual hug is just not nearly as true,
Oh humbug, humbug, humbug!
