Listing - is a nautical term to describe when a vessel takes on water and tilts to one side. A ship can list either to port (left) or starboard (right).

Inspired by the Triple Trawler Tragedy. Three fishing boats sank, claiming the lives of those on board. Some of the men on the ships were never identified. Our hearts and prayers are still with the families that have been affected. In this poem I look at what may have happened to their children. I think we have a universal attraction to the ocean, despite its unpredictability and dangers, and I would imagine that for someone who has seen a loved one disappear beneath the waves that there would be an even stronger yearning to find and recover them.
