How bullying can hurt people.
"Suicide by Bully" by Patty Palmer
Oh, what a mess my life was
Following me my whole life through.
It started with my birth date
I came out feet first and blue!

Due to problems at birth
Physical defects affected me.
I walked with a bit of a limp
And I partially couldn't see.

I didn't have a bit of hair.
Bald as an eagle was I!
I wore a wig most of the time
And it made me feel shy.

Because my parents loved me
For who I am and just as I was
They never mentioned my problems
As no loving parent does.

When it came time for school
I never wanted to go.
The other kids laughed at me
And for what, I didn't know.

My speech was a bit drawn out
And I had trouble learning to read.
When the teacher called on me
It was torture you wouldn't believe!

Some kids thought it funny
To imitate just how I sound.
Nobody would hang out with me.
Said they didn't want me around.

Sometimes they would limp like me
Holding on to things to find the way.
It didn't bother them that I cried.
They kept it up anyway.

It was bad enough to face it at school,
At least at three, I knew it would stop.
But with the use of the internet
Now I got bullied around the clock!

Nightly, my messenger lit up constant
To signal there was a note.
Some said that I had no right to live
And why don't I go get a rope?

Sometimes they would tell me
To move away and leave their school.
They told me that I was stupid
And I acted just like a fool.

I tried my best to ignore
Hurtful words that they would say.
But they would go on endlessly
Telling me to die or go away.

I cried all the time!
But I wouldn't let my parents know
How desperate I was getting
I wouldn't let my feelings show.

Then that night it got too much.
I'd had about all I could take!
I believed that I'd be better off
If tomorrow I didn't awake.

I waited until late into the night
So nobody would see.
The last part of the note I left said
"You're a bully but you won't bully me!"

Author Notes
Bullying runs rampant in our schools and anywhere you find kids! The schools say they have a no-tolerance rule about bullying, but who is going to tell? If they tell a teacher, the bully will just get them off of school property and probably worse. I honestly don't think anyone really knows how to deal with a bully. Now with the internet, they feel brave and send death threats! More teens pick suicide as a way out! A way to stop the pain. So sad. I believe that it should start in preschool teaching kids about bullying. It should be taught to not bully all the way through school. If you were ever bullied as a kid, you understand what I'm saying. Pray for the kids. Both of them.
