"Out of Beat" by elchupakabra

We're out of beat, but we can't be beat
I guess timing was never really our thing
I've lost my way but you've got yours
and I don't know just what's in store

'Cause she was into the Stones when I was into the Roses
She was breaking my bones when I was bursting their noses
We were young and stupid, pointing a finger at Cupid
you said "I'm not in love", I said come along then you did

Early nights and late morns
fell out of favor, forlorn
got used to this but I'm not used to
disappointing you miss
but I can't give you anymore than this

She was getting me pills when I was into her best friend
She was chasing the thrills and living down at the west end
I was young and careless, she dared me to just say yes
I found myself confessing; this is all just a big mess

Early nights and late morns
send it out 'cause I'm scorned
got used to this but I'm not used
to disappointing you miss
I'm so sorry, that's my story
and I can't give you anymore than this

She would tell me a secret, I would lose it the next day
young love pleases you easy, makes you sick in a bad way
All the while her friends say, 'you could do better you know'
I've got two left feet now and both of them, they're so slow

We lost the beat but we can't be beat
I guess timing was never really our thing
you've lost your way but I just found mine
turns out we got there together just in time

Together just in time,
on your beats and with my rhymes.
