This work has reached the exceptional level
With eyes as brown and deeply keen
"The Eyes Have It!" by Raffaelina Lowcock
A sadness wrapped around me
Sadly, knowing I would never see
My father’s smile his deep brown eyes
I muffled daily my constant cries.
To a Dog Show I was taken
Adamantly, and not mistaken
I said to all both loud and clear
“No dog for me, I’ll make that clear.”
Upon an aisle I sauntered down
I saw a dog, I’d want to own
With eyes as brown and deeply keen
My father’s stare I’m sure I’d seen.
We brought him home and loved him
Never a dull moment and never grim
Until his body failed to recover
From whatever, we would later discover

So near the end there was confirmation
He died of what seemed a revelation
The same thing that my father had
Took our dog and made us sad.

Author Notes
Yes it's true. The last application the doctors' applied to my father was the same as what they did to our dog. They flushed his kidneys. This was the first time I ever considered reincarnation.
