getting away from the loudness of life.
"I had to get away" by Justin Chopin
I Had To Get Away

I had to get away from all of the noise.

The sounds of my own mind were stealing all of my joys.

So I went into my room during these afternoon hours.

For God, I need to be healed from myself by Your mighty power.

Because I have been in a somber mood all day,

I don't want to stay stuck so please take all of this anguish away.

Change me, for I am damaged and drained.

Change me, I don't want to be bound and chained.

Chained to my sins that have caused me so much pain through the years.

Chained to my mistakes, which have made me choke on my tears.

I cry this lamentation out to You, my Sweet Savior.

Because I am a fragile, insecure man, and I desire your favor.

Change me; I'm being poisoned by all of the venomous lies in my head.

Change me, because right now my spirit is just so lifeless and dead.

I long for a true transformation from the man I was before.

I long to be remade by your salvation, Jesus, let my sunken spirit soul soar.
Help me to bestow upon the world your hope and your grace.

That Your name will be honored by every tribe and every race.

Author Notes
Written last Sunday when I was feeling a bit depressed. It's about me getting away from loudness of this crazy world we live in and petitioning my anxieties to God knowing that He will bring me tranquility in my times of distress. Enjoy.
